DF Range 2 Bolt Flange Housings

The DF Range 2 Bolt Flange Bearing Housings are compact, self-aligning bearing units engineered to provide reliable shaft support in industrial machinery where flange mounting is preferred. Designed with robust grey cast iron housings and pre-mounted Glacier DU® or DX® steel-backed plain bearings, these solid 2 bolt flange bearing housings combine simple installation, excellent load handling, and low maintenance for long-term operational efficiency.

Each DF range housing is supplied with captive self-aligning bearing inserts capable of accommodating shaft misalignment of up to 15°. This unique design eliminates the need for highly accurate shaft alignment during installation, reducing assembly time while preventing edge loading that can shorten bearing life. The result is smoother operation, improved bearing performance, and greater reliability in demanding industrial environments.

The compact two-bolt flange design makes the DF Range particularly suitable for applications where mounting space is limited but dependable shaft support is essential. Compared to conventional rolling element bearing units, these housings require no press-fitting, allowing the shaft to be assembled quickly and easily while simplifying maintenance and future replacement.

The DF series is available in both metric and imperial sizes, covering nominal shaft diameters from 10 mm to 100 mm and ½” to 4″. Standard products are available from stock, helping minimise downtime and reduce procurement lead times.

Depending on the application, bearings can be supplied in either DU or DX bearing materials. DU bearings are designed for dry-running conditions where lubrication is difficult or undesirable, delivering dependable performance across an operating temperature range of -200°C to +280°C. DX bearings are intended for grease-lubricated applications and offer excellent wear resistance up to 120°C, with occasional re-greasing significantly extending service life.

For applications requiring axial shaft positioning, standard shaft collars or shoulders can be used, while Glacier thrust washers can be incorporated where moderate thrust loads are present. In addition to the standard DF range, custom bearing housings, alternative housing materials, and application-specific configurations can also be manufactured to meet unique operating requirements.
